Event Details

The inaugural Phu My Bridge ‘Phun Run’ will be held on Sunday, 6 September 2009 starting at 8am.  The Phun Run is 5K in distance and will start on the bridge's District 7 approach, leading over the bridge to the District 2 approach and then under the bridge before looping back along the same route to the start.

To ensure that you have sufficient time to obtain parking, prepare for the event and be eligible for the giveaways, we recommend that you arrive at the event by no later than 7:30 am.  Also, the earlier you arrive, the closer you will be placed to the front of your starting group.

Due to the slope in the bridge, unfortunately no bicycles, skateboards, rollerblades or other similar wheeled objects (other than prams) will be allowed on the course during the event.

The bridge will be closed to all traffic during the event.

Transportation

Return bus transport is available from District 1 (20 buses leaving from the corner of Le Lai & Nguyen Thi Nghia at 6:30AM sharp) and District 2 (10 leaving outside the BIS at 6:15AM sharp). No pre-registration. First come, first served. After the event, the buses will return to Districts 1 and 2 from between 9:00AM and 10:15AM.  The bus fare is by donation.


Parking

Parking facilities for cars and bikes will be provided close to the starting area. Please refer to the Location Map for details.


Chest Bibs

Chest bibs will be in 2 colours, relating to whether you are a child/student or an adult.  Please attach your chest bib firmly to your clothing using safety pins.


Unfortunately, we cannot replace lost or forgotten bibs.  If you don’t have your bib on race day, you will need to purchase another one.  Please go to the information desk located next to the entrance to the starting area. It will be open from 6.00 am on race day.


Bag Check

A bag check facility will be placed immediately inside the entrance gates of the event.  Please refer to the Course Diagram for more details.


Self Seeding

You will be placed in one of three groups (runners, joggers or Back of the Pack) based on the group nominated during registration. This is to ensure that you are placed with participants of similar ability. Please refer to the Course Diagram for the location of each group.

Signs will be set up at the starting areas and marshals will be available to assist in ensuring that you start in the correct group. Please be considerate of those around you and start in the appropriate group.

All walkers, families and fancy dress entrants are encouraged to join the Back of the Pack.  Prizes will be awarded to the best dressed on the day.
